The Archives Committee has the responsibility of serving as the custodian of the Sorority’s print and non-print materials housed on the campus of Howard University and in the Corporate Office. It shall serve as advisor to Alpha Kappa Alpha in the development and implementation of policy for archival records.

The Building and Property Committee oversees Sorority-owned buildings and properties.

The Communications Committee is the agent that shapes the Sorority's message and devises strategies for articulating it to the media.

The Conference Planning Committee centralizes Corporate Office planning for the Sorority's national meetings, Regional and Cluster meetings and a host of chapter events. The committee goal maximizes value and minimizes cost of this significant investment of resources.

The Connection Committee identifies and studies national and international issues which impact quality of life; designs strategies for communication with the membership regarding these issues; mobilizes the membership for action; and formulates and recommends position statements to the President and/or Board of Directors.

The Constitution Committee proposes needed changes in the Constitution and Bylaws, examines all proposed amendments from approved sources and formulates them to be circulated.

The Corporate Support and Legacy Fund Development Committee has the responsibility for identifying, developing and maintaining relationships with financial supporters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

The Diamond/Golden/Silver Anniversary Committee plans a national meeting activity for the Diamond (75-year), Golden (50-year) and Silver (25-year) anniversary members.

The Finance Committee develops and supervises the operation of the Sorority’s annual budget; promotes support for any current fund-raising drive; and is responsible for auditing all accounts not otherwise assigned.

The Financial Officers Certification Committee will implement and administer a certification and training program for chapter financial officers.

The Graduate Advisor Certification Committee will administer a training program for Graduate Advisors and members aspiring to serve as Graduate Advisors or on Graduate Advisory Teams. The Honorary Members/Awards Committee recommends specific criteria for selecting Honorary Members, screens nominations and presents recommendations to the Board of Directors for induction. It also establishes criteria for nominations and makes recommendations to the Board for the Sorority's National Achievement Awards.

The Human Resources Committee recommends to the Board of Directors the employment of the Executive Director. It formulates and makes recommendations on all human capital policies, practices, procedures and compensation ranges.

The Internal Leadership Training for External Service Committee has the responsibility of planning, developing and instituting International Leadership Development for External Service. It will serve as a catalyst for member development for service within the organization and enhancement of leadership skill transferable to professional and personal life.

The Investment Committee recommends to the Board of Directors the investment portfolio policy. It monitors the performance of professional investment managers and overall portfolio growth and supports fund-raising to achieve Centennial Endowment goals.

The Leadership Fellows Program is designed to prepare undergraduate sorors for key leadership roles in the sorority, as well as, in public, non-profit and private sectors through training and mentor-mentee relationships. The Program consists of a week of intensive theoretical and pragmatic leadership training in a retreat-like setting.

The Membership Committee monitors membership status and trends and recommends strategies for recruitment, retention and reactivation of members. It also develops the Alpha Kappa Alpha Risk Management policies and reviews the Graduate Advisors' training.

The Nominating Committee implements the Sorority's nomination procedures, including the verification of Leadership Training Certification.

The Reinstatement Task Force will administer a training program for members seeking to return to active membership.
